Jumpers For Goalposts

Luke & Nik, London, England

As part of Goal Click London, in partnership with adidas, Luke & Nik photographed a series of pitches while travelling across South East London.

The images were photographed over an 8 hour period, travelling across South East London by bike from football pitch to football pitch.

A journey all football players can relate to, searching your local area for a new spot to play. Each goal and pitch represent a space, a location where you are free to ignore all other thoughts and embrace the sport of football.

The spaces come in all different shapes and sizes, varieties and constructions, with goals made from whatever one can find in order to play. From the run down metal goal posts covered in graffiti to the iconic jumpers for goal posts.

These images represent the variety of facilities available to the football playing public of South East London, reaffirming the simple notion that all you really need to escape is your imagination and two jumpers.”

London

Goal Click London, in partnership with adidas, told the story of London football culture from the perspective of local players, photographers, fans, and community organisations.
