The Pride Of London

Axelle Courlander, London, England

As part of Goal Click London, in partnership with adidas, photographer Axelle Courlander took photos of women's and men's football across London, with a focus on Leyton Orient in east London.

Trophy drinking: This is my team, Leyton Orient Women's Football Club. We'd just won the Mayor's Cup. Although it's not the league title we would have preferred to win, it was a great way to end the season. It's a sign that this team is ready to push on and bring even more glory to Leyton Orient!

Chelsea vs Man City pitchside shot: Chelsea Ladies vs Manchester City Women's, two of the strongest teams in England, in the FA Cup Semi Final, Chelsea won 2-1 in extra time. I regularly shoot stills pitch side at Chelsea. Not only does it mean a lot to me as photographer, but as a player I find it to be a huge privilege to be able to shoot and witness such talented players. My hero is Katie Chapman (pictured, Captain). I never thought I'd get to see her play, now I'm pitchside at most of these games. I'm also a diehard Chelsea fan.

The Picture from the stands is from a Leyton Orient men's match versus York! We were invited down to parade our Mayor's Cup victory at half-time. We were in the stands during the game and got an unbelievable reception from the fans at half time...apart from the York fans, you can imagine what chants we received when we waved our trophy in their direction.

The park picture was actually the first picture I shot on this project, it was a beautiful day, the sun was out and as I walking home I spotted a group of kids playing football. It was just a lovely moment that I wanted to capture.
