Leaders Week London
Goal Click Heard and Leaders are teaming up to find people from across the sports industry to share their lived experiences through a live spoken storytelling session at Leaders Week London on Thursday 8 October 2026.
We believe that to truly understand another person’s life, experiences and worldview, we need to hear it from them, in their own words.
Goal Click builds deeper understanding of people and cultures through storytelling in sport. We find and support people from around the world to tell real, human stories about their sporting lives and communities, in their own voice and from their own perspective. From grassroots sport to elite athletes, fan culture, and sport for good, our stories are brought to life through short-form video, photography, written word, live spoken storytelling events, and exhibitions.
Goal Click Heard at Leaders will bring together a small group of storytellers to share a personal story connected to their journey through sport, the experiences that have shaped them, and their aspirations for the future.
No previous storytelling or public speaking experience is required. You will be trained and guided by Goal Click and our partners Heard Storytelling every step of the way.
What do you have to do if you are selected?
You will be trained to develop and deliver a 8-10 minute personal story, spoken live in front of an audience at Leaders Week London on Thursday 8 October (session start time 16:00).
Your story will be filmed, with content also shared across Goal Click and Leaders media channels.
The theme for the evening is:
"From My Past To The Future"
We will explore your personal journey which brought you here and where you see yourself in 10 years time. We will examine the defining moments, decisions and experiences that have shaped your career, and look ahead to the next decade and the opportunities that will define your place in the sports industry in the future.
You can watch examples of previous Goal Click Heard storytelling here:
Zoe’s story (People Director, Chelsea FC)
These will give you a sense of the format, style and experience, but your story will be completely your own.
What are the commitments?
If selected, you will be supported through a simple storytelling journey designed to help you feel confident and prepared.
1) Storytelling Masterclass (90-120 mins, online) - Monday 14 or Tuesday 15 September
You will join an interactive masterclass with Heard Storytelling, Goal Click, and the other storytellers where you will explore your experiences, identify your story and learn the foundations of great spoken storytelling. Timing will depend on what works best for all three storytellers.
2) Individual Story Session (60 mins, online) - Date TBC
You will have a one-to-one session with Heard Storytelling to develop your story further and receive individual feedback and guidance.
3) Group Rehearsal (60 mins, online) - Date TBC
You will rehearse your story alongside the other storytellers, receive final feedback and get comfortable with the format before the event.
4) Leaders (London) - Thursday 8 October
You will take to the stage at Leaders to share your story with a live audience.
Alongside the scheduled sessions, you should expect to spend some time working on and practising your story independently between sessions.
Most importantly, you will not be doing this alone. Heard Storytelling and Goal Click will guide you through every stage, from finding the story to stepping onto the stage.
Who are we looking for?
