Jamil, Spain

I'm Jamil, I'm 10 years old and I want to be like Ronaldo. I am from Syria and I arrived in Spain in 2020. Before I came to Spain, I played in Lebanon with my friends. I love to play soccer; it is what gives me the most happiness in this life. I don't really like watching football on TV, I think football is to be played, lived and enjoyed. For this reason, I would love to be able to one day see a football game live and direct in a real stadium.

Soccer has allowed me to interact in Spain with other boys and girls. Above all, it helps me learn the language. I spend recess at school playing soccer, but I don't like to always play in the same team. I like to change team and teammates. When I grow up, I want to play for a local team, score a lot of goals and have my family come to see me.

What did you try to show with the photos? Was there any broader meaning with the photos?

I am with my friends in the park and on the football field. Football helps me to have friends. I showed how much fun we all have together in the park. Football is fun for everyone. I sometimes play with Spaniards that I meet in the park.

What role does football play in your life at the moment? How has CAR Alcobendas helped you?

Where I spend the best time is playing soccer with CAR because we play with people of many nationalities and it is very fun, each one plays in their own language and I have a great time.

Can you tell us someone else's personal story in the photos?

Ángel comes to play with us. He is learning to play football now, because before he did not know before.
