Fans in China
We are casting for Season 3 of A Lovely Day with Guinness, a documentary series exploring Premier League fandom around the world, and are currently looking for Liverpool and Tottenham supporters from Guangzhou.
Get a feel for the series and meet the fans in Japan and Jamaica from previous seasons.
This season, we want to hear from passionate supporters of Liverpool or Tottenham, who are part of a group of fans who watch matches together. We want to hear what supporting your club looks like in your community, the rituals you have, and who makes the experience special.
Who are we looking for?
Liverpool v Tottenham kicks off on Saturday 19 December at 17:30 GMT (01:30 local time in China). In particular, we are looking for a group of fans in Guangzhou who will come together on the morning of Sunday 20 December to watch the match together, without knowing the result.
For the Liverpool v Tottenham match, we are ideally looking for fans who will watch the following morning. Perhaps your group will have a pact to stay off social media, mute group chats, and avoid football conversations until everyone is together. You might have strict rules about spoilers, a favourite bar that hosts your screenings, or traditions that make watching on a delay feel just as exciting as watching live.
We want to hear how you organise your screenings, how you plan to keep the score a secret, and what sharing those moments means to you and your fellow fans.
You do not necessarily need to run a supporters’ club or have a large following. We are interested in your story, the people you share football with, and what your club means to you.
What do you have to do if you are selected?
If you are shortlisted, we will reach out directly for more information and ask you to send us a short video introducing yourself and your group.
If selected, you will be filmed by a small crew as we explore your life as a supporter, your connection to your club, and the people and places that are part of your football community.
Filming will take place on 20 December 2026, the day following the Liverpool v Tottenham match. We may require you to be available for some filming on 18th and 19th December also.
You will need to be comfortable communicating with the production team in English, although you may speak your preferred language on camera.
Fans will be notified of selection by 20 November 2026.
What do you receive if you are selected?
Details of the participation fee or rewards, and arrangements for reasonable travel expenses, will be confirmed by the production team.
Are there any requirements you must meet to apply?
You must:
Be a passionate Liverpool or Tottenham supporter.
Be at least 25 years old.
Be based in Guangzhou or the surrounding area and able to take part in filming in Guangzhou.
Have plans (or be willing to arrange) to watch the Liverpool v Tottenham match on a delay the following morning (Sunday 20 December) with a group of friends.
Have availability during the proposed filming period of 18–20 December 2026.
Have sufficient English proficiency to take part in casting conversations and communicate with the production team.
Be comfortable being filmed for Guinness-branded content involving alcohol and within environments serving alcohol.
Be comfortable with the content being shared publicly, including on Guinness and Premier League digital and social media channels (including YouTube and Instagram), subject to the participation agreement.
